As if things don’t get silly enough on St. Patrick’s Day, we wanted to throw in some extra folly just for fun(draising).
Yes it’s true, Quincy Star Follies is coming up on March 17th and 18th at the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds!
This year’s Quincy Star Follies boasts the largest cast ever, with more than 140 community members of all ages. As the main fundraiser for the Feather River College Foundation, the lip-sync variety show is run completely by volunteers seeking to raise money for Feather River College students and programs.
There are two shows a night at 6 and 8:15. The cast members practice diligently for months to present the show and, with consistently sold out shows, the event never disappoints.
The performance is two acts with numbers ranging from Broadway to today’s top hits, guaranteeing there will be a song for everyone to enjoy. There are all kids’ numbers, the ever popular FRC student numbers, and the all cast numbers that will rock the house with the sound of 140 pairs of feet on stage.
Foundation Fundraising Chair, Lisa Kelly, has been the organizing head of the event since its inaugural year in 2010. The money brought in from this event funds the major projects of the Feather River College Foundation, which include teacher and staff mini grants, FRC equipment, and student scholarships.
